I was born a little late for the hippy era < I was 13 when Woodstock happened
so, no, I wasn't there
got ya Mike, I was only 9 when woodstock happened. But i do like to think I
was born at the perfect time. My grandparents were listening to glen miller
and the like, my parents were into 50's and 60's music and presley, and i
personally got to grow up along with some of the best rock and roll music out
there, the beatles, stones, zepplin, floyd, ccr, elton, chicago etc, and made it
out of the disco era alive in time for the 2nd british invasion, clash, joe
jackson, police, elvis costello, the cars, genesis and new wave(I know some of
them are not british-but damn good just the same) and now my 15 year old is
turning me onto a bit of rap and new stuff, smashmouth, John mayer just to name
a few. There are some good new bands around if you give em a chance. I
definately think I would do well on the music version of Jeopardy and i have
appreciated all of the music I've been exposed in my life. I started my artistic
career, copying the art off album covers. I wonder if i should bring it all
full circle and carve a couple. By the way i have a vivid recollection of the
keep on trucking guy. I had a huge poster down in the basement, right next to
a big yellow smiley face and a huge marijauna leaf poster. was so cool with
the black light on and incense burning. I guess my parents were cool cause i
would kill my son if he did the same thing now.
