Great story -- my kind, about animals. We left home Dec. 22 for our
daughters in Columbus, GA. Ran into the bad blizzard moving cross country
about 40 miles North of Cape Girardeau, MO about dark the 1st night out.
Along with 90% of the vehicles on the road we turned off as soon as there
were motels. The next day we drove 5-30 mph & traveled 200-220 miles total.
About 20 miles down the road the next day we ran out of the snow & ice & was
clear sailing all the way to Columbus. It was great to spend the Holidays
with our daughter, her husband, 3 granddaughters and 2 great grandsons. The
teenage daughters have had babies (it seems to be the thing to do in
Columbus) & kept them. Not what we wanted for the girls, but that doesn't
mean we love them or their babies any less. They are doing OK for
themselves & are continuing their Education. Anyway we arrived Christmas
Eve & left Jan. 10. On the way home we ran into rain & fog, but no ice. We
got home to find about 2-3 inches of ice on everything & temps in the single
digits. For people who have spent the last 6 years in the SW it is not
pleasant. Even though our animals were well cared for while we were gone
the dog & cat that come in the house are DELIGHTED we are home. Now I'm
playing catch on email. It really is great to read all of your messages
again. I have a couple ideas that I want to do in the woodburning, but it's
too cold to go in the cold parts of the house to hunt up patterns. Keep the
messages coming & I'll get inspired.
Good to be home and back to all of you.
Take care & God Bless,
Sylda
