Hi Maricha,
What I mean by good art is when you see something that speaks volumes maybe
really touches you or inspires you and enriches your life. As we produce
hopefully a few of our pieces achieve that level.
I would sooner look at an original work that is not perfect than a copy done
very well. That is not to say we should not copy. Copying is a great way to
learn, especially if we copy the masters. The other night another of my
apprentices was copying from Michelangelo. It was an excellent study as well
as a great inspiration. I'm sure that her original work will reflect what
she learned from the study.
