Maura,
The prize for the correct guess is free admission to my NEWR workshop... wait a minute, they're free anyway, huh? <BG> How 'bout free supplies for the workshop? Well, we'll think of something appropriate :-).
OK, now that Maura made such short work of the guessing phase, on to the real reason I posted the pictures... I need some critiquing from any equine folks out there and the archers as well. In fact, if their are any woodcarving centaurs on the List, don't be bashful, chime right in here! The centaur is basically wheeling around, and firing at "something" that is chasing him. He's part of a fighting retreat. I modeled the horse part of the centaur after photos of barrel racers I found on the web. Actually the torso is modeled after the rider as well (with obvious modifications). It might be unfair to ask for advice at this stage since it's basically a "rough sketch", but any and all suggestions are welcome. The next phase is a larger, more carefully assembled version that actually gets covered with clay.
Keep on Carvin'
-Mike B.->
