The list owner has a great way of finishing  his work & I have wondered in the past if it would not be a good way of doing those that will be outside --

  Joe,
   Mahogany will hold up well in the wilds of Alaska?  that would be great as I probably have the right size pc of mahogany.  I have never heard that it is good for outdoors.  What would you finish it with.  I was thinking oil paint with 5 or 6 coats of a spar varnish.  Good enough?  This probably will never be resealed again and I'd like it to look as good as it can for as well as it can.  Thanks
