Hi Doug, Gene, and Bill,
I have probably gotten more emails from that article than any I have done.
It is really a fun project and it can become a real sentimental thing to do.
I now do a "growing stick" for all the special little children that come
into my life. It is especially fun to do for the little girls because as
they get older I can tell them how to use the sticks to drive off the unruly
boys. ;^)

Gene/Bill,
I carved a growth stick before Greg ran the article . Greg gave me the
concept when I wanted to carve something for my first grandchild. I kinda
did my own thing and it's no way as fancy as Greg's . If a look helps see my
picturetrail account under new carvings. The picture doesn't show the vine
but I could take a picture if it helps. My granddaughter just turned two so
Grandpa has an update to do.
My daughter is expecting Grandchild two about Easter and has told me to go
to work!!!

Doug you are very close to it, I got looking and the first Carving magazine
I picked up was Issue #5 and there it was.
Bill, if you have Issue 5 it is on page 18 to 22.....Called Carving a
Growing Stick.
Guess I should have asked if you get Carving Magazine, if not maybe Greg
will let us make a copy for you.
Gene
