No problem; Coat ther carving with the Linseed oil and Burnt umber, let it 
soak in then wipe off the excess and paint immediately with watered down 
acrylics. Your stop cuts should prevent the acrylics from bleeding into wrong areas,  
and the grain of the wood will show through.   Rip
