Yes, you can paint acrylic paint over boiled linseed oil coated carvings.
Pete Leclair demonstrates it in his carving books. I have found that I've
missed a place or two when I dip my carvings. I simply wipe them down, let
them dry a little bit and touch up the missed area.

Ok, I know there are and have been a lot of painting questions, but, I have
another one. If I mix an oil based burnt umber in my linseed oil prior to
painting. Can I then paint on top of that with acrylic paints or does that
create a problem?
