You can say anything you want about your 'rights' when it comes to
protecting your property, but. When a Chinese national comes to your
display booth and pulls out a tape measure, and talking into a cell
phone, getting excited as all can be, begins to copy your product, your
rights are out the window. I've had it happen to me, and know several
others put out of business because of the flood of southeast asia knockoffs.
I asked them to leave my booth, they don't speak english, and left when
they had a good picture. I didn't even get them to buy one. I'm
waiting for next year's show circuit to see how cheap my hard work is
valued.
If you can't come up with an idea and flesh it out yourself, then don't
even start Your a 'wanna be'.
If you work your best, at any skill level, _anyone_ can consider
themselves a craftsmen. When giving less, taking a short cut, hedging,
copying, shows a lack of respect to other workers who do not 'fudge'. I
take pride in my craft, am not to financially successful at it, but no
one can discount the quality of labor involved. People tell us to take
pride out of our lives, well, I for one am/_ PROUD_/ of my work.
Am not sorry for going on like this,
Phil
