Hi Jim D,

Friendship Hardwood 800-525-9892 lists rough African Mahogany KD 8/4 at 
$4.30 a board foot when buying 100 to 500 board feet. (They don't have 
prices in lower quantities.) They don't list walnut.

The Hardwood Connection 815-895-8733 lists 8/4 African Manogany at $6.50 a 
board foot. They list 8/4 walnut at $7.75 a board foot.

I have a chance to pick up some 8/4 wood on Wensday.  My funds are really 
limited this pay but with this dealer it is catch as catch can so I do want 
to get a couple of pieces off him.  He has walnut, 8/4 by 8" to 10" wide for 
$6.80 a board foot and African Mahogany, 8/4 by about 12" wide for $6.55 a 
board foot.

Two questions.  Are his prices decent?  If you had to choose one or the 
other what would you rather carve?  I have carved black walnut before but 
have never tried african mahogany so thought the list might be able to help 
me out.
