Bonnie,
You can obtain a copyright by filling out a form which is available from www.copyright.gov. It was recommended I use form PA for my videos. It will cost you $30.00 filing fee, plus a copy of what you want to copyright sent to "Library of Congress" in Washington, DC. It will take about 3 months to obtain the "Certificate of Registration".
If you have specific questions the copyright office number is 202-707-3000. I had a question and found them very helpful. There is no reason to get a lawyer involved.
You can register your business name (called a "domain name") through the internet. There are a number of sources you can register the name through, but I found "Domain Bank, Inc" to be the most reasonable at $20.00 per year. You can look them up at www.domainbank.net. Their web site will should answer any questions you may have. For a business you will use .com, .biz, .info, or .ws. If you register your business, .com is the most familiar to the general public.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
