Hey Big, Dog,

I have had an Epson Perfection scanner (model 1650, about 4 years 
old, I think) and have been VERY happy with it.  Before that I had a 
Microtek and was also happy with that.

I usually check the CNET reviews as part of my research before buying 
any peripherals .  You might want to check some of the reviews and
