[Woodcarver] Power Tool Recommendations?

Hi Jared,

Jet equipment is what I would recommend for good equipment if you're a
serious woodworker. It is good equipment at a fair price (not cheap).

I would (bias opinion coming) recommend Carving Magazine. We try to keep the
magazine as a teaching tool. Marnie Whillock, [who spent her life around the
woodcarving world, has carving experience, owned a woodcarving gallery, and
sells woodcarving tools and supplies] is our knowledgeable editor. She does
a fine job at keeping the magazine focused on being a usable tool to
woodcarvers at all levels. Carving Magazine is unique is that it has full
size fold out patterns. Carving Magazine is published by All-American Crafts
and can be found on many magazine racks. You may also call me for
subscription information at the number below during normal business hours.
There are 4 issues per year, 100 pages each, $19.95 for one year or $39.90
two year (9 issues) includes one free bonus issue.

I'm very biased because I'm on the staff and also write the "Ask Joe"
column. I'm a question collector who's looking for some answers. We have a
great product, web site http://www.carvingmagazine.com with a Readers Forum
and Live Chat with some of the staff. I'm on life chat Tuesdays EST 3-4 PM.
Hope to see you there.

As a newcomer to woodcarving I would like to express gratitude to those of
you who participate on this list, especially its creator/manager.

I am currently researching jointers, planers and bandsaws for
relief panels. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, do you have any
recommendations for a good woodcarving magazine?
