[Woodcarver] Power Tool Recommendations?

I'll go with Joe on the tools; I've had a 3hp Jet shaper and a HD Jet lathe
w/l7" swing and lever speed control for almost 20 years and haven't had any
problems with either. I also had a 14" Jet bandsaw that I gave to my
brother-in-law when I moved up to an 18" Grizzly. I've had good luck with
Grizzly tools too; I have a 20" planer w/4 knife cutter head; a 14" table
saw I use for almost all my edge joining. I do a LOT of edge gluing and
find that I can get a truer edge on the table saw than with a jointer where
you can get edge wobble and end snipe. My spindle sander, belt sander, dust
collection system and planer knife grinder are all Grizzly. I like doing
business with Grizzly. They are very responsive. I have no interest in the
company except as a satisfied customer. As far as the magazines go, I like
Carving magazine very much, both for the content and because I feel
priviledged to be aquainted with some of the contributors. Regards Ray
