Charley,

A hybrid vise? Now that sounds interesting. Please share pictures with us when it's finished, eh? <sorry 'bout the "eh"... it's that Northern influence slipped out ;-) >.

Keep on Carvin'

Thanks to everyone for the good ideas....I have a friend who owns a tool and die shop and he said he'd make me a vise if I got him some plans. Just talked to him and he is combining several of them to make one.
thanks again for the help

Charley

Maricha:

Speaking of Veritas brand tools... they are, of course, the brand of
Lee Valley Tools. Good brand... expensive, but excellent quality.

Lee Valley Tools just opened a store here in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
I attended the opening and had the pleasure of meeting Robin Lee, the
president of the company. Had a pleasant chat with him. Down to earth
fellow, like his Dad.
