[Woodcarver] Plowed field

Hi, I haven't been very active on this list for a long time, and in fact
I have not even had the desire to pickup the carving tools since my wife
died in December, but finally motivation and a birthday deadline has got
me moving.

What I am looking for is any suggestions on how to carve the appearance
of a plowed field. I am carving a tractor and driver, and I want to set
it on a base of a plowed field with an inscription across the front.
The size of the base is about 8 by 12 inches and about 1.5 inches
thick. I plan to cut a 45 degree bevel half way up around the base and
that is where I will put the inscription, it is the appearance of a
plowed field that has me stumped. Any guidance or if you can point me
to an example of one I would appreciate it.

Lloyd
