Hi,
I am working on chip carved pieces for a local craft co-op and have no problem
pricing plates, etc. I want to put a sample wedding plate in the shop with our
names and anniversary date on it and am trying to consider the pricing for it.
I have a base price for the plate, $40 for a 10" scalloped plate with a central
design. I was estimating that an additional $3 per letter/number would cover my
time and expenses on this. Putting "Vic & Cynthia" "June 17, 1967" on the
plate will add another $63 to the price. At $103, am I pricing myself out of
the market? (Obviously the price will vary on # of characters) Anyone currently
working with a pricing model for this kind of work? I like the idea of price per
square inch for relief, but this is a bit different and a per letter price seems
the most reliable method and easiest to discuss with customers.
Thanks! Vic
