Hi Dick,
My camera of choice is the Canon G6. Its a little pricey but I was looking
for a camera to take both point and shoot snap shots that my wife could use
and quality close-up photos of my carvings. I also wanted a camera to use
outdoors, especially in macro mode on flowers, birds and animals, with
carving studies in mind. After 6 months, I'm satisfied with the
performance of the camera. It has a "bright LCD" option and a tilt screen
for shooting outdoors which helps a little with the visual problem caused by
sunlight on the screen. It also has an optical viewfinder which corrects
for eyesight differences. To see some of the outdoor results check out the
flower and bird pictures in my picture trail albums.
