Hi Maura!
Your article(?) is coming along great! The new chapters are full of
interesting thoughts. I enjoyed reading the chapter on Women In Carving!
It's too bad some men in some places are not very accepting of women
carvers. I have not had that experience at all and am very grateful for it.
The help, patience and encouragement I have recieved from all carvers
(meaning men especially LOL) has helped me grow and become better than when
I was trying it on my own with the how to books. In many endovers (art,
craft, hobbys what ever you want to call them) where money is trying to be
made some people won't teach someone how to because it might take away from
their business. I haven't ever had the feeling that a carver hasn't wanted
to show me how I can do it better. Carvers are the most friendly, caring
helpful and fun people I have had the pleasure of spending a lot of my time
with!!
