[Woodcarver] Removing chips while carving

I was given some bass wood in the first part of this
year before I went into the hospital have planned on
carving it and was able to draw my santa pattern for
the wooodcraft contest and its got dark lines and also
streakin and also things I have never seen bass wood
do before.. Even came up with a knot or two int the
center of the wood. Any ideas. Even shows the wood
grain and its have yet to be painted..
