[Woodcarver] Photographing mirrors

Hello,
Haven't written lately, but sure appreciate the thread
about pricing and quality show participation. Thanks
for being there, folks.

I need to photograph some decorative mirrors I'm
building and carving. Any suggestions about how to
best photograph these mirrors would be appreciated.
They will be sold at shows with the mirror glass in
place, so the photos would be for show juries,
brochures, etc. Do you substitute another material in
the mirror glass area while shooting the pics (so you
don't get glare, or the reflection of the photographer
in the image--I'm wondering how they do it in
catalogs.)

And speaking of literature, could we try that as a
thread? Of those who sell at shows, or simply market
their work for sale, what else do you offer beyond
business cards...brochures, flyers, postcards, etc. Do
they help? Have you found such things to be worth
their cost? Do you compile mailing lists and send such
literature to potential buyers? Anybody running ads
other than posting products on your websites?

Thanks from California,
Jean Athey
