Hi all just wanted to share something with you. Most of us that love to
carve never really think about how much it really affects our lives. Being
in the Army I had the opportunity to complete the 2 Canadian Mechanized
Brigade Group (CMBG) Ironman competition last week. It consisted of 52 km
run with 40 lb on your back. Now it takes considerable amount of time to
complete this grueling race about 6 hr 30 min for the fast ones and 14 hrs
for the really slow ones. The route was through a dense forest of mixed
woods through Swamps Rivers and River shorelines. Will during my 7 hr trip
all I could think about was the bark just lying around waiting to be carved
and of course the incredible amount of driftwood along the shore line. There
were burials as far as the eye could see. It was like running through a
carving haven. I could keep carving for eternity with never needing any
thing but new tools. Anyway the race went very fast for me.
