The fish carving class this August in West Yellowstone got me inspired to find some time for fish carving. The first thing I did after that was to finish the Yellowstone Cutthroat that I did there. All I had to do was to finish painting, attach and blend the fins and mount it. It came out really nice. Now, I am leading one of my sons through the fish carving process as we carve a 14" rainbow trout that I had caught, cast and made a pattern from. We only get to carve once a week or so which makes progress slow. I did also start on a brown trout that I had caught and cast and made a pattern from.
