George
I just got home so a little late on comment, Big Dog had a good idea on leaving some areas with no finish such as the inside to let the wood breath, so you can smell the aroma, they also make a aromatic Cedar Oil we use to coat the inside on Dressers with to make the cedar smell even more. Big Dog may have some or if by chance he don't type in Oil of Cedarwood in a search engine.

Hi All
I've been making Icicle Santa Xmas Tree ornaments out of
red cedar. They are about 1 inch in diameter and about 5 inches
long.
I would like to give them a clear finish but still preserve the
odor. I don't think that this is possible but I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance.
