Thanks for the feed back. I have several more to post on the web when
time allows. I am trying to establish a chronological view to track the
carvings as my skills and interests evolve.

The snake sticks are all carved from 1 log. Specifically the copper head
was about 5 inches in diameter to start with. The scales where all hand
cut, I found that I could do about 1 inch an hour so there is a lot of
time invested. I do most everything by hand the power tools irritate me
with the noise and dust.

Now that the weather is getting warmer my carving time will increase. I
really enjoy spending the weekends on the porch carving. Winter is no fun
for me. I just finished an elephant cane, almost done carving my son a
koala bear clinging to a tree branch, and just started another snake
stick. busy, busy, busy...
