Chip carving seems to be your specialty from what you have shown us. I like the crisp clean cuts in this jewelry box.
Did you make the box also? Any woman would die to have one like this.
I just completed a white marlin in deep relief butternut wood 2" thick, with nail dents for background. Also, used tung oil with 3 coats - gives a clean grain showing surface.

Just finished a jewelry box Chipcarved 15x11x7

This one only has 3 coats of DEFT (spray) on it
