HI FRIEND JAN!
I was sorry to learn that you won't be at the Roundup this year. I had planned to sit at your feet and learn a few things. Possibly next year, Deo Volente.
I wonder where the Dinosaur eggs come from. Probably up there in Canada. We don't have dinosaurs down here any more except a few in our government. I agree with you that his eggs are of the finest basswood quality. I have tried to do a few turtles and a couple of Santas, ala Tim Berry. A couple of years ago I sold him a rather elaborate George Keilhoefer sharpening system at a greatly reduced price. He sent me a finished 5-6" Santa and a rough out and a blank so I could give it a try. He also sent a delightful egg Santa. I bought two additional ones from him. Len Dillon has Tim's egg Santa on his website....step by step.
Jan, I didn't realize you made your own knife. What is the price? I have a bunch of knives but can always use another.
I am genuinely impressed with the amount & quality of work that you carve out. Jean and I spent an enjoyable time with your "picture trail" offerings a couple of days ago. I didn't yet find your Ostrich egg carvings but I'll give it another shot after supper.
I wish you God's blessings on your travels to Bill J.'s place. We are not supposed to envy (i.e."covet") but I do envy the experience you are going to have with Bill. Give him my best regards. He and I share the joy of both being Lutheran pastors.
Greetings to Thea. We are well and ,as we continue to age, even more aware of the blessings of our loving God. May He continue to bless you both as we continue to celebrate in this Easter season. Paul
P.S. All of the information re: the Poetry contest is in the April issue of CARVINGmagazine. I am sure you are a subscriber and if not let me know!!!!!
