Merrilee,

It sounds like we'd better not wait 'till next year for that troll shipment.

Our visit to the retail store at Golden paint factory was well worth it.
Several more colors than you find at the Michael's display. The store
opening has been rumored for 3+ years, but when we tried visiting it last
year on the way back from NEWR they weren't ready. Harold got a color
called Quin-<something> Burnt Orange that together with titanium white was
recommended to us for flesh tone... we'll keep ya posted on that one.
Harold is a big fan of these paints, but I think they're a little pricey. I
have a drawer full of Jo Sonjas thatI won't give up because I'm comfortable
with them <when I'm not painting with oils>. Besides... Golden doesn't make
Norwegian Orange <G>. The outlet store prices were a little less than They
are at Michael's, but with the weekly 40-50% off Michael's coupon you can
still do better at the craft store. They did have a free box full of
"seconds" at the store that Harold remembered to ask about. Harold gave me
pick-of-the-litter, and I was really tempted to grab this 4oz jar of raw
umber, but a restrained myself. After all, it's my fault he's a firm
believer in raw umber as "nature's black", and I know he uses it a lot.

It's a bit out of the way for most people, but we were on Rt8 going north
anyway so...

Keep on Carvin'

Hi Mike!
I hope by now the ivy is trimmed and the yard cleaned up! It has been so

hot here and my daughter in pain (had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled) that I
haven't done anything since getting home! and then to make matters worse the

storms took out my modem so I couldn't even get on the computer! How sad! :)
I think sending me the troll to help with next years trip is a great
idea! Your trolls are indeed good luck and we all need one! Hear that
Tony?? You'll find out this year how well Mike can train them. There a
plug for you, Mike!
What did you learn/see at the Golden paint factory? Anything we all need to

hear about?
It was nice meeting you and your wife Chuck. Good luck with your new
venture of carving!
Have a great weekend all!
Merrilee

>Chuck,

>>Welcome to the NEWR family... I think the benefits from you and your wife

>joining us were mutual... maybe tipped a bit in our favor.

---I'll save a troll for>you next year <or ship it to you before you pack
and come East ;-)>.
