Thanks for the info Sam. Unfortunately, the reply trick does not allow me to 
see the content of her messages. Of course, I am on the Digest version, so a 
reply includes the entire digest. Perhaps that affects it.  Well, I am glad 
people can see my messages, and I can see the text of my own message in the 
archives no problem. But i can't see the content for any of Maura's messages 
in the archives or in the Digests. <sigh>

Maura - perhaps you'd want to contact AOL to advise them of this problem and 
see if there is something that can be done.

I tried looking in my Hotmail setting and do not see an option to use plain 
text in the new Beta version. So I reverted to the old version and it seems 
to be in plain text by default. Hurray!

Hope this can get sorted.
