Charlie wrote in part: The obvious question must be asked at this time. Is
it all one piece?

Hi Charlie,

It was all one piece but now I've got millions of them.

Yes the it was essentially one piece except for the lip in front of the tube
light that I glued in so the light bulbs couldn't be scene from the front.
Even though I carved a trench for the tube light I couldn't get it deep
enough without weakening the top so I attached a lip to hide the bulbs from
the viewer.

Because some asked to see more of the carving I added a pic showing the
front of the mantel with the whole scene. It's in the Webshots (link below)
album titled Mantels. In the back off to the left hanging on the wall is
one of Ivan Whillock's carvings of the Risen Christ. On the right is an
Aspen Log headboard for a king size bed that I'm about to carve some animals
into.

In the same album I have a walnut sign done for the Emerald Isle Gallery by
my apprentice Tina Stephens and I. I roughed it out with a lettering tip in
the Rotozip and Tina did all the actual carving.

I added another walnut mantel in the texturing process showing my beginning
sketch that the customer has approved. It is about 4-inches high carved to a
depth of about 3 inches.

Thanks for looking and your nice comments.
