Pat and others,

One two part resin that I am familiar with is Envirotex. It is
typically used to reproduce model water and very clear/thick finishes on
bar and table tops. here are a few suggestions for using it:

Use fresh product, it gets old and may not dry completely.

Mix completely, but try not to introduce too many air bubbles into the mix.

Pour no more than 1/8" thickness at a time.

You can pour multiple layers without sanding or other preparation of the
surface.

Work in a well ventilated space, this stuff is very strong.

To get rid of air bubbles once poured, use your warm breath across the
surface to burst most of the bubbles, or use a pin to prod the bubbles
to the surface and then breath on them. the CO2 in your breath breaks
them up.

This applies to Envirotex brand resin only! It may work for other items,
but I can't verify that for you.

Good luck, Vic
