[Woodcarver] Crumbly Cottonwood bark

Since I'm new to this carving business, I'm using the bad piece of wood to
practice - eyes mostly. Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

Hi Diane. If your piece of cottonwood bark has enough bad areas that you
do not feel that you can make a good carving by either avoiding them or
carving them out then I would suggest the firewood option. Bark is a fairly
cheap wood to carve - if you want some good, solid pieces at a fair price
let me know off the list (albisso at bresnan.net).
