[Woodcarver] finding a club

Hi Annie!
When I began carving or wanting to carve and couldn't find anyone it was
frustrating. But as I told friends and others about it they were able to
find a group about 30 miles away from where I live. It was worth the drive
once a week. Even though I was so unsure I just sat there and looked busy
but didn't ask for too much help at first. The Evart group was very
friendly and would ask me if I needed any help. With all the talking I also
found someone eles in my home town that wanted to start carving (although
she is very talented and had some previous knowledge with wood). Together
we started our club with just the two of us. To day we are about 15-20
strong and meet every week to carve and help others. So keep talking to
people where ever you meet them and someone might want to join you. Even if
neither of you know anything between the both of you it can help to work out
the bugs together. Carving is a great way to be creative and enjoy nature.
Opps one more thing find out when the shows are - there are almost always
venders there selling their wares so you can feel what the knife is like
before buying. Good luck!
