Hi Jim,
It sounds like the bearings might be going bad in your handpiece. That's what
usually makes it get hot.
I've had customers replace their own bearings depending on what handpiece it is.
Otherwise, folks just send it in to Foredom for repair.
They have sealed ball bearings, so don't try to lubricate them in any way
because that can do more harm than good.

Subject: [Woodcarver] Foredom
Hi there,
Jim here, the new guy who broke his hip. I'm wondering about my Foredom
handpiece. It gets hot as I am using it. It is working fine,except for that.
What does the heat mean and how do I correct it or did I do something to cause
it? I've never done anything to the handpiece but if there is something wrong,
I would assume that I did it. Thanks!
