Most of the woodburners put out a voltage around 1-2 volts at high amperage (around 10 amp). The Nichrome wire has a very lost resistance.

I have a Woodburner question.
I realize that, on the woodburning power supply, the incoming voltage
is 120 volts. This is the incoming voltage to the transformer, but
what is the voltage going to the burner?
I have some transformers, laying around, and want to know if they
can be used to make a woodburning power supply.
