When you see the finished carving you will understand why I couldn't  do much 
mallet work.  Used the mallet to the point where I could no longer  do it 
safely without destroying parts of the carving.  I am still using  pro-sized 
tools but am finessing them rather than man-handling them.  I  should have chosen 
a softer wood but I believe this carving will look great in  mahogany when 
finished.  Then it will all have been worth it.  By the  way, its a carving of 
Neptune. Its gonna be cool!
