Hi Mike.

I'm not saying this just because Ivan is my mentor but because I actually
believe it.

This DVD is going to be the best foundation to learn basic chisel
techniques. Ivan is a trained teacher and also was formally trained in the
basic fundimentals of triditional carving techniques that have been tried
over the centries. It is through this series of exersizes that we can learn
these basic techniques. I have been wanting this for a long time. There is
so much that Ivan gives in his introductry class that even after hearing it
over and over I still can't remember it all. This DVD will give me the
capability to practice each technique and review it until I get it right.
These techniques are applied to any carving style, relief or in the round.
These are the fundimantal building blocks for proper use of the chisel for
chrisp clean cuts with no cleanup necessary.

I kid you not, any level carver would take there skills to the next level by
studying this DVD, beginner to advanced. I will encourage all my apprentices
purchase the video to review it on a regular basis and I will be doing the
same. Never hurts to improve your skills through practice.

There is a real need for this type of DVD. No place else are these
techniques available all together in one DVD. In a formal school atmosphere
I think it would take several years to be introduced to all of what's going
to be on this DVD. I haven't seen the DVD yet but I'm seen the presentation
many times. I think the only thing that going to be missing is the jokes
Ivan told during the live presentation.
