Hey Mush (VERY applicable name about now!)

Been raining here for so long, I can't remember the last good sunny day,
never mind a whole week! 3" of rain Saturday, and probably another 2-3"
today.

Saturday, I finally got a chance to do some carving, so I'll get a jump
on Jan and ask;

Whatcha all carving????

I had a class at Paul Ward's shop with Tony Erickson, doing a bark
carved house. We only had one day, so there was lots of detail work to
do after the class was over, but I am nearly done with hollowing out the
back and the front is finished except for a little cleaning up of window
edges and some spray Deft on it.

I got to the class and Tony told us to pick out a piece of bark to
carve. The first one out of the box really "spoke" to me about what
waited inside the rough exterior. The finished house isn't quite what I
envisioned, but it is what was hiding in there, so I am happy. This
certainly won't be my last bark house now that I have done this one.

As always, a class at Pauls shop was fun and very helpful. Paul is a
great cook so lunch was more like a buffet with more food than you could
possibly eat, although some of us tried hard!
