I am from the St. George area, near the ferry to Deer Island. About 1/2 hour to Calais Maine. My parents live in Cambridge Narrows not far from Gagetown. Any links you could give me would be appreciated.

Are you near Gagetown ? I know of some loggers in the area the could have some, however its been a couple of years. Try the Alexander brothers just south of Gagetown in Fredericton Junction. I find most of my wood supplies Cherry, walnut; butternut, Basswood and so on come from local mills. I normally when I move into a new area, which I do often. Locate all the small family wood mills in the area. I now have several in Ontario, BC, N.B. and N.S, Sierra Leone and others.

Wow nice find.

wish I was closer. Basswood very hard to find here in N.B.. If anyone knows of a place that is reasonably priced here in N.B. could you let me know. I have been getting some scraps from a local woodworking shop of different types of wood. he has been giving me tons of Black Cherry and Walnut but no basswood yet.

Darren Myers,

P.S. Bing, where did you get your wood when you were living in Gagetown? maybe there is some still around and I am too new to know the contacts yet.

Hi all, I just got this over the net. If there is any one around the Ottawa area interested. This sounds like Gary has some usable basswood. Bing http://darkwood-woodcarving.comnot sure if you have a great need for more wood, but I have a very largebasswood tree that came down on my property today...if you or someone youknow is interested in acquiring some large carveable pieces, get back to me.I'm just south of Ottawa. Thanks.gkb
