Hi Sally
You are right! The 8th Evart Roundup was great! Bill Jaquay had a new
pattern - tulips to carve! (they were hard to see to lay out but when done
look great!)
Laure Dunkel and her husband were there with knives and a neat house
to make. John spent quite a bit of time with my 18 year old "student"
(she's been carving with me for 3 years now) helping her to purchase a new
knife. She is very pleased with it!
Harold Joesph had cypress knees to work on with power and another lady
has some that she did without power.
I was surpised to see Chris from NEWCR plus several others from that
area here in Michigan.
Jack Miller and his wife were here of course but there were others that
came to learn.
All in all it was a great success!
Of course I just went to "talk to everyone"! But somewhere along the
way I did get some great information about a wonderful powder that has a
translucent effect when painting. I also am excited to do some wood burning
on my pins! This lady from Ohio, Sandy Wilkins(hopefully I got the name
right!) gave me a wonderful dragonfly pin (pattern was in WCL recently)
with burning on it. I am so impressed!!! I want to do that! It really
added to the pin! And as I sat tonight trying it isn't easy! So I will
keep trying until I get it right! :)
I am looking forward to Cherry Ridge in July! I hope I get this wood
burining done before then!

>Well folks, the 8th annual Wood Carvers Roundup in Evart, MI is history.
>It was a real "WOW." I heard a rumor there were 603 registered
>participants.
