[Woodcarver] Need some stan help

Hi Chimo,

You can get basswood to look the color of oak but it won't have the grain of
oak. Just take a piece of oak to a paint store along with a piece of
basswood and they can match the stain.

Ofcource Joe is right (as always )
I have stained metal outside doors to look like oak As Joe says get the
right stain to start with and AFTER drying use a slightly darker stain and
go over the whole surface and wipe it lightly with a rag (trial and
error )Practice on a board first But it WILL work
