[Woodcarver] tools

Bill this sounds kind of dumb, but my first project I would like to carve or
whittle a small cross necklace for myself. Beyond that I am not sure where
to start or what to do. I am a very beginning beginer

You need to be much more specific. Each type of carving requires  
different tools.

What type of carving do you wish to undertake?
