I use Flexcut tools every day. I teach my Basic carving lessons and Spirit
Face carving lessons all using Flexcut tools. Plus sell them on the net.
The type of tool I use for all of the lessons is their basic tools set
http://darkwood-woodcarving.com/carving_tools.htm . Which is very
reasonable, you can pick them up on the net or at any good carving shop.

This set included 2 handles and 16 blades. My concern is about constantly
inserting and removing the blades from the handle. After a while will this
cause them to be loose fitting? Does the "Power Handle" have the feel of a
standard size tool rather than a palm tool? How do Flexcut tools compare
generally?

No way would I get those that have to be changed unless you do very very
little carving.

I have done a lot of hunting $ wise and I am well pleased with Flex cut.

$ wise I think they are the best buy.

If you check out ebay wood carving tools they hav ebeen having some very
good buys.
