Thanks but the bench thing won't work for me and I'd need pretty detailed
plans for the box, which I really like.

I never received my own message on this and this is the first one on the
subject I've gotten. No idea why I'm out of the loop so often.

Here's a portable carving table with a tool tray in it. You have to look
