hi mike,
i just got the dvd from marnie a while ago to. i loved it it was very easy to understand and very informative.i have learned so much in so little time. he realy has a lot of thing covered.
i thought i was doing certain things right, but after watching it i realised that having had no teaching from anyone and having to teach myself i sure was doing a lot of things wrong, how i sometimes pull of the carvings i make is a big mistery. anyway i have learned a lot and i think its time for me soon to start buying some more of ivan's dvd and maybe from some others to so i can properly see how they do it. i also think i need some of those bigger tools that ivan was using, they sure must make it easier on those larger surfaces.
if anyone knows about some good carving dvd and some bigger tools feel free to always send me a link so i can have a look.
harry

My daughter was having a good laugh last night as I was trying to pull the padded envelope containing Ivan’s DVD from the post office box. I was starting to get concerned that I would have to return to the PO when they were open & have hem remove it from the back. When it finally came free I felt like a kid at Christmas. Unfortunately since it was already getting late (we had climbed 3 tiers of a waterfall after supper and were on our way home) and with everything else going on, by midnight I couldn’t stay awake enough to watch any more. I did watch to the end of the leaf section & have already picked up several useful tips. I know there are more that I missed so I will have to watch it again. Oh well, what else is there for a single parent to do on a Friday night then watch a good movie?
I got thinking the more I watched that I’m gong to have to pick up some better quality tools though. That’s okay, I love tool shopping. I’m just glad they slowed it down. I never would have caught any of it if it was at the same speed as the clip we previewed earlier…LOL
Thanks Ivan
Mike ‘TheKid’
