Thanks to Camper John for taking pictures of GOW 2006 and posting them on his website http://www.camperjohn.com/index.html . Camper John is a great guy to have around. He's fixed my computer link to my copier, has been working setting up tents and other tasks and still finds time to post pictures between the classes that he's taking.
THANKS CAMPER JOHN! Check out his great site and the GOW photos. Keep up with his phots every day.

The GOW is going great except temps in the 50's with strong winds. You just can't help having fun with a bunch of cold carvers. I don't have a head count of how many are here but I can't fit in another camper and the parking areas have been quite full in spite of the wind and cold.

We had 9 students, from the art club at Plano High School, in for a dog carving class. Sandie Roosa furnished the pattern and instructed half of the class. Morgan Groves and I did the other half of the class. Then they stayed for the chili dump. The chili was great, but then again anything warm tasted great.

Ol' Don did his talk on carving a likeness. It was awesome. After his talk someone mention that would be some great information to get into a book. Ol' Don said it was, it's already on his CD with a lot more information that includes photos to reinforce his drawings. You can get this CD along with his other CDs off his web site. http://artofdon.com

I wish you all were here having fun and drinking coffee to keep warm. Lots of learning happening around here. Lots of fun too. Tonight we have our blanket trade. I'm thinking that I'll trade for the blanket instead of the tools and wood.
