[Woodcarver] large carvings

The new "Carving" mag arrived today. My dream is to carve the heron by Bill 
Prickett featured in it. What a beautiful sculpture! Where would one find 
such a big chunk of wood (life size bird is almost 3 feet tall) to try 
something like this?

Realistically, I'll end up doing the Santa and maybe a cowboy or 2 but one 
can dream ...
