Hey, I answered my own question! I put a google search in for woodcarving
supplies and found a whole list. Why didn't I think of that before???? I'm
going to take a look and bookmark a few sites, or maybe request a catalog
from one or two.
Thanks,
Arkansas Fran

I can't answer your question....in fact, I have an additional question. Are
there woodcarver catalogs out there somewhere that may offer woods? I don't
know of any suppliers or providers, but if I had some names, I wouldn't mind
trying to find those companies and even purchasing on-line. I live in a
fairly rural type of area myself, and find that a lot of specialty items are
more easily found on-line. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Subject: [Woodcarver] Local Basswood?
Hi,
I'm a new carver and I've been looking for some basswood locally. I live in
the Valley Forge area in Pennsylvania. I've seen that there is an annual
woodcarving event held in Lancaster PA (which is close enough), so I'd be
surprised if there weren't any wood places out that way.
I've been searching online, aside from this
<http://pacfpi.allegheny.edu/index.php?id=hoe&goog=find+certified+wood+/+pro
duct+directory> site, I've found surprisingly little. Most everyplace I
find is either a flooring company, doesn't carry basswood, or they no longer
exist. Any suggestions on finding a local wood dealer would be welcome.
Thank you for your time,
~Justin
