Justin,
Next time the Lancaster folks have their show, try to attend. Most
woodcarving events like that have at least one wood supplier who's local.
George or Anne (Maura's tip) are a good bet for connecting you with someone
in PA. And I might have some one else for ya, but need to get an e-mail
back from someone.
Keep on Carvin'

Subject: [Woodcarver] Local Basswood?
Hi,
I'm a new carver and I've been looking for some basswood locally. I live in
the Valley Forge area in Pennsylvania. I've seen that there is an annual
woodcarving event held in Lancaster PA (which is close enough), so I'd be
surprised if there weren't any wood places out that way.
I've been searching online, aside from this
<http://pacfpi.allegheny.edu/index.php?id=hoe&goog=find+certified+wood+/+pro
duct+directory> site, I've found surprisingly little. Most everyplace I
find is either a flooring company, doesn't carry basswood, or they no longer
exist. Any suggestions on finding a local wood dealer would be welcome.
Thank you for your time,
~Justin
