Gentle Subscribers:

You may notice the change in the headers for messages you receive from  
the List. I have deleted header referring to the Smug Mug galleries,  
and have terminated the galleries themselves. The galleries have not  
met my expectations, and photo contributions have been sporadic at  
best. It seems there are many alternatives to a centralized gallery  
available to carvers these days, which allow them to post images for  
the viewing pleasure of family friends and other carvers.+

Nevertheless, I want to thank all those who took time and effort to  
participate in this experiment. I hope the galleries were useful to you.

Meanwhile, the List community continues to grow. Membership is now up  
to 867 subscribers, the highest level ever.
